It started with
a place.
And a cribbage board.
I’m Colton, the person behind Made From Places. About a year ago, I had an idea: turn a 3D-printed topographic map into a cribbage board.
A way to keep a favorite landscape close, and give it a place at the table.
A place worth keeping.
One idea.
Countless iterations.
Getting from that first idea to the boards you see today took countless iterations. I kept working through the designs, printing them, and making changes until I landed on the versions I wanted to share.
Along the way, I created the software that turns a place on the map into a printable landscape. That became the foundation for Made From Places: choose somewhere that matters to you, then make it your own.
The landscape is the starting point. The goal is to make something you’ll keep coming back to.

It didn’t stop
at cribbage.
Once the boards took shape, I wanted to see what else I could make with the software. That led to topographic clocks, jigsaw puzzles and fridge magnets.
Different objects, with the same idea behind them: a landscape that means something to you, made into something you can use, display or give.

More places.
More possibilities.
I’m always designing new products and exploring what comes next. For now, I’m glad you’re here. I hope you find a way to bring a favorite place home.
